Taranto

Taranto, an important city of Magna Graecia, offers wonders and ancient temples, unfortunately destroyed by the Spartans from the Gulf of Taranto. The remains of ancient Taras are preserved in the National Archaeological Museum. Near the station is the ancient city with the Aragonese Castle and the Romanesque Cathedral. The renowned Doric Column is located near the castle. Taranto is 58 km from Ostuni, reachable in about 54 minutes by car.
